PONDICHERRY TRAVEL DIARIES

06:10

Hello swatituders, hope you all are in great spirits. Recently I had been to Puducherry (formerly known as Pondicherry) , a beautiful town in south India. This blog will be featuring what I did and what I wore in my three days Pondicherry holiday.

It was a long weekend, so we decided to take a road trip from Bengaluru to reach Pondicherry. We started off early morning on Friday in Renault Duster. The six-lane highway made it super comfortable in driving our way from Hosur to Vellore. There will be multiple points in the way where you will feel like stopping by and enjoy the stony hills. But I made sure rather skipping them and storing the view in my eyes. Took Tindivanam state highway route from Vellore this is 100km stretch of single lane. Post Tindivanam is four-lane highway to Pondicherry again making a scenic views of  pine bushes on both the sides of the road. I made a point to stop by and get myself clicked on my return journey. It took about 7 hours to reach our destination.

On my journey to Pondicherry,  I chose to wear casual denim shorts which I ordered from Amazon fashion and stripped tshirt from Zara. Picture following below.

In Pondicherry, we stayed in a resort called 'Ocean's Spray'. I immediately fresh n up and left for Promenade beach in the evening. This is a rocky beach, I made sure to relax my evening by just sitting over the rocks and enjoyed watching sunset. I chose to wore a tee-styled dress from Forever21. Pictures are following below.

After getting rejuvenated by the nature and its amazing view, I headed towards a cafe called 'Spice Route' located near to Promenade beach in French town. This was the apt place to stay for 2 to 3 hours and enjoy snacks, drinks followed by dinner. The place was full of young crowd and the attenders were curteous. This made the end of the first day.

Second day, I got up lazily and after having breakfast headed towards French colony, also known as White town. Before coming to this place I had already visualised the ambiance of this place. I want to mention here that my visualisation did meet reality. There were clean roads and houses painted in different unique colors along with beautiful bougainvillea flowers hanging around the french quarters. The feel of the streets was amazing and did take me to an ancient french town. I made sure to pose myself with this amazing architecture. I chose to wear a cotton made dress from Forever21 and paired it up with pink heels from Avirate. The pink glittery purse is from Primark, London.

As you can see in the pictures above I made sure not to miss any spot. In between the photoshoot, I got totally exhausted due to the scorching heat. To fill my tummy was a restaurant called De L'orient, this had a lovely french and pondicherry cuisine. A decent place for similar cuisine lovers.

I managed to change and again headed towards those beautiful streets as you can see in the pictures below. This time I picked up black H&M shorts along with ink blue Forever21 t shirt. The sandals are from Avirate again.

Took a rest meanwhile and headed towards the Promenade rocky beach to enjoy evening beach side walk. Post beach walk, I headed straight away to my resort. The evening I wandered around the beautiful water styled resort. The beauty of the resort is to die for. A must recommended place to stay when in Pondicherry. Stay here to feel it.

Third day, I was quite quick in getting ready. Early morning I headed towards Auroville beach, this helped me in avoiding local crowd and the heat. Seeing the hot weather, morning is the perfect time to visit the beach and the cool white sand. Enjoyed thoroughly my morning time at the beach. Pictures will tell the whole story.

Then I straightaway headed towards Auroville Ashram. This Ashram is spread across acres of land. Lush thick forest around to reach the golden dome shaped Ashram. Such a peaceful and must recommended place to visit when in Pondicherry. There were many eatery stalls and souvenir shops to stuff yourself in the way to the Ashram.

On my return to resort I made sure to take a relaxing spa. Evening time I preferred to stay back in the resort and enjoyed post dinner Pondicherry air before bidding goodbye to this beautiful town.

As mentioned above, posting a pic that I took in the pine shaped bushes on my way back to home.

Hope you enjoyed the blog as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Catch you again in my next trip. Till then stay healthy, stay in swatitude.
